Strength. Wisdom. Hope.

Welcome, fellow wanderer.

Life takes us to unexpected places. Sometimes these places are barbed with challenges that wear us down and take us away from who we hope to be. Our brains are wired to dwell on painful thoughts, feelings, and memories in a misguided attempt to keep us safe. This means that joy, peace, and connection can feel completely out of reach as we retreat, find numbing distractions, or put up walls to protect ourselves from further pain.

We can't map out every aspect of our life's adventure, but we can learn way-finding skills. We can become more adept at surviving and thriving through adversity. Pain is a part of life, but it doesn't have to be the focal point. To change and grow is truly a heroic journey - it takes bravery, grit, and stamina to get back up again and live life with more freedom and grace.

If you're feeling stuck, lost, or overwhelmed at this part of your journey, we can work together to find a way forward. As a psychologist, I can walk beside you and use my expertise to help you embrace your inner strength, use your wisdom, and reconnect with hope.

A Few Thoughts on Heroism

A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles. ~Christopher Reeve

I think a hero is any person really intent on making this a better place for all people.

~Maya Angelou

Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.

~Marie Curie

Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious. And however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at. It matters that you don’t just give up.

~Stephen Hawking
